Dipika Pallikal is a professional squash player and the first ever Indian to break into the top ten in the PSA Women’s ranking. She won her first three career titles in 2011, with the first two coming at the Orange County Open and at the Dread Sport Series in the USA, followed by the Crocodile Challenge Cup in Hong Kong. In 2012 Dipika became the first female squash player to be awarded the prestigious Arjuna Award. In the 2014 Commonwealth Games she along with Joshna Chinappa won the squash women's doubles gold medal, making it India's first ever Commonwealth Games medal in the sport. In the same year the government conferred her with the Padma Shri for her outstanding achievements in squash. Moving on to 2016 she clinched the Australian Open title in August 2016. Dipika is also a double silver medalist at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in the doubles and the mixed doubles category.
