When on song, Rohit makes batting look effortless and bowling attacks appear mediocre. Rohit Gurunath Sharma (born 30 April 1987) is an Indian international cricketer who plays for Mumbai and is the captain of Mumbai Indians in the IPL. Ro grabbed eyeballs on the international stage on 20 September 2007, when he led India to a famous victory by scoring an unbeaten 50 (off 40 deliveries) against South Africa in the 2007 ICC World T20 and then proceeded to score 30 runs off 16 balls in the final against Pakistan.
Ro further got people’s attention when he battled to a steady 66 against the mighty Australians in the CB Series final in 2008 which helped India win the first tri-series in Australia ever. The stage was then set for a long run in the Indian Cricket team.
Critics believe that Rohit’s captaincy in the 2013 IPL for Mumbai Indians really transformed him as a player and a person as he took responsibility on his shoulders to play some vital knocks and lead MI to their first ever IPL title.
Rohit’s consistent performances with the bat as an opener in the Champions Trophy helped him cement a place in the Indian cricket team.
A player with truckloads of talent, plenty of time on the ball and every shot in his armoury, Rohit is just getting started!
